Laser cutting is contactless process use to apply innovative, decorative embellishments to textiles. Only a low powered laser beam pierces the fabric, applying the outline, geometric, or design of your artwork, cutting holes or burning the texture in the textile and bringing to life a completely new fabric.
This, of course, minimizes the chances of fabric deformation and ensures precision. The laser beam melts the material during the process and allows to have perfectly sealed edges that stop the fabric to fray and have a very clean finished look.
A very wide range of fibers (both made of natural or synthetic) can be laser cut such as: PolyCotton, Nylon, Rayon, Linen, Lycra, Polyester, Silk, Wool. Heads up: when laser cutting natural fibers such as cotton and linen, the cutting edge might burn, resulting in a brown color.
Lasers are able to cut the most detailed patterns and reach very fine details achieving very accurate contours. This technique is often used in underwear, hems and sportswear garments.
