Sublimation Printing (Dye-Sub)
Sublimation, also known as “Dye-Sub”, is a printing technique that transfers images onto suitable fabrics.
This technique is realized thanks to the use of sublimation printer, that is similar to a plotter. The machine uses heat to fuse the chemical solvent to the substrate and the print sticks to the fabric in a permanent way.
It is necessary that the chosen fabric has a high percentage of synthetic fiber, such as polyester, or other synthetic fiber that is receptive to the chemical dyes used in sublimation.
This technique allows to print entire rolls of fabrics and the designs can present many different colors.
In order to obtain a good final quality it is preferable to print onto white or light colors fabrics.
Sublimation Printing is largely used for Swimwear, Sportswear and Outerwear.
As a resume, here are the advantages of Sublimation:
- Possibility to easily print in various colors
- Extremely Long-Lasting prints
- Detailed and high quality prints
- Wide Print Formats
- Fast and Reliable, automated machine process.
